Students have been working hard on practicing two digit addition strategies. Please ask your child to explain each of the different strategies below and show an example of each.



Students also created a Math Checklist to ensure their mathematical thinking is clear at all times. Please review the checklist with your child and ask them to explain it to you.


Yesterday we started a math project. Students used base ten blocks to create their name and then used addition strategies to calculate how much their name was work! Here are pictures of the process. Below these pictures you will find your child's name and their calculation. Please ask them to explain their work to you! Try another name at home. Make an estimation....will their name be worth more than yours?
