Sorry for the lack of blogs! Our last day for swimming is tomorrow! Again, a HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping out!

We're looking forward to seeing all parents at student led conferences Tomorrow and Friday!

You will pick up a conference sheet and students will walk you through...

Reading: students will read their guided reading book to you. You will ask your child some comprehension questions (on the back of the conference sheet) and talk about the book. (At this point in the year, students are expected to be reading at K/L books or higher)

Writing: Students will share their most recent writing with you. Please complete the June Writing Checklist with your child and see what else your child needs to add in their writing to meet this June deadline. On the whiteboard, you may also view our Grade 2 writing rubric and exemplars.

Math: Students have been working hard on their addition strategies. Please ask them to show you their addition mat and explain their mathematical thinking. Also, on the back of the conference page please solve have your child solve the subtraction question using the number line strategy.

Extras: Your child will show you their Arctic Animal Research on the bulletin board. Please review the criteria checklist and have your child read their work to you. Please also ask your child to share the yellow learning goals page from their visual journal.

Last but not least, please visit the lost and found with your child. There are MANY items here!!!
